AC/DC With AXL ROSE: Rescheduled U.S. Tour Dates Announced

June 1, 2016

The rescheduled dates of AC/DC's North American tour — which will be the band's first concerts here with GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose on lead vocals — have been announced. The group will kick things off at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina on August 27, just five days after Rose completes his summer stadium run with GUNS N’ ROSES.

"This band has got a ton of energy and you’re going to see a fusion of all that terrific chemistry that we have felt ever since rehearsals in Lisbon," says AC/DC guitarist Angus Young. "I want to get back out there onstage in the U.S. with these guys so our audience can see and feel it too."

AC/DC will make up the ten shows it was forced to cancel earlier this year when singer Brian Johnson had to abruptly come off the road or face total hearing loss.

The group recruited Axl Rose for 22 shows, including a dozen stops in Europe. There are four dates left on the European run.

For the shows in Europe with Axl Rose on vocals, AC/DC has been surprising fans by including rarely played tunes from their formidable archive such as "Rock 'N' Roll Damnation", "Riff Raff", "Touch Too Much" and "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)".

Young said recently that he's not sure what AC/DC will do after wrapping up its current tour, remarking, "We were committed to finishing this tour, so that's been our main goal, and Axl's helping us. I know he's very excited. He keeps saying, can he do more? But we don't really know at the end how we will [proceed]."
